It's been more than 15 years since Cherry Capital Foods began the difficult but rewarding work of building a sustainable local food system. Over the years, CCF successfully helped small to mid-sized farmers and small entrepreneurial food producers get their products to the marketplace when large/mainline distributors would not have taken the time or interest. We have been more than a distributor - we have truly operated as a partner to countless vendors, working hand in hand on crop planning, labeling/branding, product size and assortment and identifying market opportunities. We helped launch hundreds of local farms and brands and were counted on by our valued customers to bring authentic and unique products to them that were not available elsewhere. CCF is proud to have been a premiere food distribution partner for the 10 Cents a Meal school lunch program, which has provided hundreds of thousands of pounds of Michigan-grown produce to students across our state. We have partnered with countless Food Hubs across Michigan, supplying them with products and in some cases distribution support.

As the years have progressed, it has become harder and harder to operate our small business in this highly competitive environment, dominated by large corporate competitors who carry lower cost/higher volume products, and in many cases work with government subsidized growers. But - we have reached a point where it is now time to hand over the reins to other warriors, to carry the good work forward. We have explored all options and scenarios but due to various factors, competition, and economic conditions, we must make the unfortunate decision to close our doors for the time being.

Effective immediately, Cherry Capital Foods will actively begin the process of winding down our operation. November 16, 2023, will be our final delivery day and following this, all fleet activities will cease.

Between now and 11/16/23, we will continue to make every effort to serve as many customers as we can while we liquidate inventory. Please stay in close contact with your CCF Sales Rep regarding product availability and your delivery schedule as this is subject to change as we wind down the business over the next four weeks.
